Super Mario RPG Story: Smithy Steals the Star Road
Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach as usual, but the routine breaks when Exor crashes through his castle and into the Star Road above. The road shatters into seven Star Pieces, wishes stop coming true across the world, and only Mario can collect all seven pieces to restore it.
Mario soon meets Mallow, a cloud boy searching for his real parents, and Geno, a star spirit inside a doll’s body sent to fix the Star Road. Bowser joins the party too, since he wants his castle back from the invading Smithy Gang, and Peach joins once she is rescued.
Smithy leads the Smithy Gang, a weapon-maker who wants to flood the world with weapons and rule it. The story stays funny and warm, full of surprises like a wedding between Booster and Peach and a casino town run by a crocodile. It remains the Mario adventure fans quote most, from the Booster wedding to the casino crocodile.

Super Mario RPG Gameplay: Timed Hits and Turn-Based Battles
Battles run in turns with three heroes, yet timed hits keep them active. Press the button at just the right moment to deal extra damage or block an attack. Each hero has normal attacks, special moves powered by Flower Points, and weapons and armour to equip, plus Triple Moves when a gauge fills.
Between battles, Mario’s jumping, running, and block-hitting carry you through a colourful isometric world. Mini-games pop up everywhere, from mine cart rides to a casino, while hidden treasure boxes reward curious players. The remake also adds a monster list, a music player, and a post-game boss rematch mode.
Newcomers get a friendly RPG, with clear stats, forgiving difficulty, and no grinding required to finish. Veterans get updated graphics, a remade soundtrack, and fresh boss challenges that still test experienced players. Both groups can enjoy the same adventure at their own pace.
