Story of Monster Hunter Stories
The story follows a young Monster Rider who lives in a village where people form close bonds with monsters. Riders use special Kinship Stones to connect with their Monsties and travel together. The player’s journey begins after a serious event affects the village.
As the adventure continues, the player leaves home and explores new towns, forests, caves, and dangerous areas. Along the way, the Rider meets Hunters and other characters who have different views about monsters. These meetings slowly reveal a larger threat affecting the world.
The main danger is known as the Black Blight, which can make monsters more aggressive and disturb nature. The player must discover the cause of this problem while strengthening bonds with Monsties. The story focuses on friendship, trust, and the relationship between Riders, Hunters, and monsters.
Monster Hunter Stories Gameplay
Monster Hunter Stories uses a turn-based battle system instead of the real-time combat found in the main Monster Hunter games. Battles are based on three main attack types: Power, Speed, and Technical. Choosing the right attack type can help the player win head-to-head battles.
Players can enter monster dens, collect eggs, and hatch them to get new Monsties. Each Monstie has different skills, genes, and abilities that can help during combat and exploration. Some Monsties can also reach special areas by jumping, swimming, or using other field abilities.
The Kinship system is another important part of gameplay. Successful actions fill the Kinship Gauge, which can be used for stronger attacks and special Kinship Skills. Players can also use the Rite of Channeling to transfer genes and improve the abilities of their Monsties.
